Start with the right kind of support
Most questions fall into a few clear buckets, so it helps to know what you need before you send a request. If you are joining a meetup in Braamfontein, preparing for a showcase, or looking for a mentor, our team can direct you to the right person without sending you in circles.
For general help, use the enquiry form on our contact page and give us a short note on what stage you are at. That might be a first portfolio review, a collaboration idea, or support with a creator profile. The more specific you are, the easier it is for us to respond properly.
- Event attendance and programme questions
- Mentor matching and portfolio feedback
- Showcase, styling and creator photography support
- Community partnerships and collaboration requests
Support for members attending meetups and showcases
Our meetups and showcases are built for practical connection, not just introductions. If you are coming through from a chapter in Rosebank, Soweto, Pretoria or Newtown, we can help with event details, timing, access notes and what to bring. For in person sessions, we also share venue guidance when there are building rules or access controls to follow.
Johannesburg events can be affected by load-shedding, traffic and the usual city timing pressures, so we try to keep information clear and current. If you are travelling from another province or joining online from outside South Africa, tell us early so we can suggest the right session format, it saves everyone time.
- Venue directions and entry instructions
- Online session links and participation notes
- Showcase schedules and arrival times
- Special requirements for speakers or exhibitors
Help with profiles, portfolios and pricing
If you are a maker, designer or workshop team trying to present your work better, we can help you sharpen the basics. That includes Creator Profile Writing, Portfolio Feedback, Pricing Support and Market Readiness. We look at what you make, who it is for and how it should be presented to partners or buyers.
Many creators know their craft well but need help putting it into words. We can assist with clear descriptions, service structure and pricing that makes sense for local and cross-border work. For African-made products and services, presentation matters, especially when you are trying to move from side projects to paid opportunities.
- Service and product wording for profiles
- Feedback on visual presentation and supporting images
- Pricing guidance for new and growing creators
- Preparation for showcases, market days and partner meetings
Mentorship and collaboration questions
Our mentorship circles and collaboration calls are there to connect people who can learn from each other and build together. If you want to be matched with a mentor, need help refining your focus, or are looking for a partner in another city, this is where to start. We work with members across South Africa and the continent, including Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria and Nairobi.
Not every request leads to a match right away. Sometimes the best next step is a portfolio review, a showcase, or a community introduction first. That is normal, and it helps us make better connections instead of forcing a fit that will not work.
Working with our chapters
PioCreat Africa runs through several chapters, each with its own local rhythm and community touchpoints. If you are closer to Braamfontein, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Rosebank, Soweto, Newtown or Nairobi, tell us which chapter feels most relevant to you. That helps the team route your request to the right organiser or partner lead.
Some support requests are local and some are continental. Either way, the same principle applies: keep it practical, keep it clear, and let us know what outcome you want. That way we can respond with the right next step, not a generic answer.
When you are not sure where to begin
If you are unsure whether your request fits a meetup, showcase, mentorship or partnership enquiry, send it anyway through the contact form. Briefly tell us who you are, what you make, where you are based and what kind of help you need. We will point you in the right direction.
Some members come to us for one conversation, others stay involved for months as they build relationships and refine their work. Either way, support starts with a simple question and a clear reply. No fuss, just the kind of help that gets things moving.
