Terms of use

These Terms of Use apply to the PioCreat Africa website and related online services operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd. By using the site, you agree to these terms and to any additional rules that may apply to a specific programme, event or submission.

1. Who may use this site and on what basis

PioCreat Africa is a professional community platform for creators, makers, designers and builders across South Africa and the continent. The site is intended for people and organisations seeking information about meetups, showcases, mentorship circles, collaboration calls and related community programmes. You may use the site only if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement and will use it for lawful purposes.

You must not use the site in a way that disrupts access, interferes with other users, or places unreasonable strain on our systems. You also may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its forms, or any protected content.

2. Information on programmes, events and listings

We aim to keep event details, chapter information, service descriptions and participation requirements accurate and current, but schedules may change because of venue availability, speaker changes, travel conditions, municipal restrictions or other operational needs. Times, locations and participation criteria should always be checked against the latest notice published on the site.

  • Chapter meetups and online sessions may be limited by capacity, timing or regional availability.
  • Some services, including mentor matching, portfolio feedback and profile writing, may require review before acceptance.
  • Information published for a showcase, collaboration call or partnership may be updated without prior notice if circumstances change.

Nothing on the site creates a guarantee that any event, service or opportunity will be available to every user.

3. Submissions, member content and consent

If you submit a profile, portfolio, image, project summary, event response or other material through the site, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You remain responsible for the content you submit, including any claims made about your work, pricing, collaborations or prior experience.

By submitting content, you grant PioCreat Africa and Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, display and adapt that material for community operations, event administration, showcase promotion and related communications, subject to applicable law and any written limits we agree to in advance.

  • Do not submit content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory or infringes another person’s rights.
  • Do not upload material containing harmful code, spam or automated access attempts.
  • If you feature another person in photographs or written material, you must have permission where required.

4. Community conduct and collaboration standards

The PioCreat Africa community is built on practical collaboration and respectful participation. Members, guests and partners must treat others fairly and avoid harassment, discrimination, intimidation or abusive conduct at any in-person or online programme. We may remove or restrict access to users who breach these standards or who act in a way that disrupts the community.

Examples of conduct that may lead to action include repeated misrepresentation, improper solicitation, misuse of chapter spaces, unauthorised recording during sessions, or behaviour that places other attendees at risk. We may also set venue-specific rules for a chapter meeting, workshop or showcase and those rules must be followed.

5. Intellectual property and permitted use

Unless stated otherwise, the text, layout, graphics, logos, photographs, programme descriptions and compiled materials on the site are owned by or licensed to Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd and used for PioCreat Africa. You may view and print reasonable portions of the site for personal or internal business reference, but you may not copy, republish, sell, frame, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the material without written permission.

If you believe your own content has been used in a way that should be reviewed, please raise the matter through the contact process on the site so it can be assessed.

  • Use of the site does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.
  • Any trademarks, names or logos shown on the site remain the property of their respective owners.
  • Permission to use content may be withdrawn if the terms are breached.

6. Liability, changes and governing law

To the fullest extent allowed by South African law, Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd and PioCreat Africa will not be liable for indirect loss, loss of income, missed opportunities, data loss or any delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes load-shedding, network interruptions, venue outages, transport disruptions, power failures or civil restrictions affecting a chapter meeting or online session.

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute will be handled in a South African court with proper jurisdiction.

If a part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
