Careers

Working at PioCreat Africa means helping creators connect, learn and get their work in front of the right people. We hire practical people who can work across events, content, partnerships and community support with care and follow-through.

Work that supports African creators

Our team helps makers, designers and builders find useful opportunities, not just nice sounding conversations. In Braamfontein and across our chapter network, the work can include creator meetups, showcase planning, mentor matching, portfolio feedback and online sessions for people joining from Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Nairobi and beyond.

We look for people who understand that community work is hands-on. That means showing up on time, keeping details in order, and treating every creator with respect whether they are starting out or already shipping work into the market.

  • Community engagement and member support
  • Events, showcases and venue coordination
  • Digital content and profile writing
  • Partnership outreach and liaison work
  • Photography, styling and presentation support

Roles we commonly hire for

We do not keep rigid job moulds because our programmes shift with the needs of the community. Depending on what is happening, we may bring in people with experience in event production, creator services, programme administration, social media, sponsorship support, workshop facilitation or production logistics. Some roles are office based in Johannesburg, others are hybrid or fully online.

If you are the sort of person who can juggle a timeline, a guest list and a last minute room change without losing your head, you will fit in well. Strong writing, clear communication and good judgement matter. So does the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and countries.

  • Programme support and administration
  • Showcase production and floor coordination
  • Mentorship administration and scheduling
  • Digital community moderation
  • Creator content and profile support

What matters to us on the team

We value people who are organised, calm under pressure and willing to take responsibility. Our work touches public events, online sessions and partner relationships, so reliability counts. You should be comfortable working in a busy environment, sometimes with tight turnarounds and the occasional load shedding interruption that needs a quick plan B.

Because we work with creators across South Africa and the continent, cultural awareness matters too. We want team members who listen properly, communicate clearly and understand that different cities have different working rhythms and costs. A good attitude goes a long way, but it must be matched by actual follow through.

  • Clear written and spoken communication
  • Strong planning and admin habits
  • Respect for deadlines and detail
  • Comfort working across time zones
  • Interest in African creative work

How to apply through the contact page

If you want to work with us, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and tell us what kind of role you are suited to. Add a short note about your experience, the type of work you enjoy and where you would like to contribute. If you have links to a portfolio, past events or writing samples, include those as well.

We review applications as opportunities come up. Keep your CV current and make sure your contact details are easy to read. If you have worked in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town or Nairobi, mention it clearly, along with any experience in community programmes or creative production.

  • Send a current CV through the enquiry form
  • Tell us the role area you want to be considered for
  • Include examples of relevant work where possible
  • Use the contact page only, do not send random messages

Where you might work from

Our base is in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, with chapter activity in Rosebank, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Newtown, Soweto and Nairobi. Depending on the role, you may help at live events, work from a shared programme space, or support sessions online. We need people who can move between these settings without losing track of the details.

Some weeks are heavy on setup and guest coordination. Other weeks are mostly planning, calls and follow up. That mix suits people who like variety and can keep steady standards even when the schedule changes at short notice.

  • Live creator meetups and showcases
  • Online mentorship and collaboration calls
  • Chapter activities across major cities
  • Back office planning and reporting
  • Partner and member support

Grow with a practical community

We are interested in people who want to build something useful with us over time. That can mean helping a new member prepare for their first showcase, tightening a programme process, or making sure a collaboration runs smoothly from first call to final handover. The work is real and the standards are steady.

If you want a place where people care about doing good work and backing one another properly, send through your CV and tell us why you would be a strong fit. We are always open to hearing from people who bring skill, care and consistency to the table.
